Rig 6 Completes Another Well for Headington Oil

Thanks to the teamwork of Mitchell Drilling's Toolpusher Bob Brockett and the Rig 6 crew, Consulting Geologist John Basnett with Headington Oil found another well in the Mill Shoals Field in Hamilton County, Illinois.

Rig 6's Bob Brockett (Toolpusher), Mike Thompson (Driller), Robert Trabant (Driller), Bruce Page (Driller) and their crews worked around the clock to make sure that Basnett of Fairfield, Illinois had everything he needed to complete the drilling process quickly and efficiently.

Basnett, a geology graduate from Eastern Illinois University, has been in the oil business since 1983. With the increased drilling activity in the Illinois Basin, Basnett says, "I put a lot of responsibility on the Toolpusher. Bob Brockett knows what he's doing. Brockett not only made sure that Rig 6 was operating properly, he spent the extra time to make sure that his crew did what I needed them to do."

Chris Mitchell, President of Mitchell Drilling, praised the work of Basnett in developing this field for Headington Oil of Dallas, Texas. Forty-five wells have been drilled in this area. "It is a beautiful sight to see all of this activity and production. John Basnett has done an excellent job of finding oil in the Illinois Basin."

Due to increased drilling projects in the Basin, the availability of rigs can be limited. According to Carl Julian, Vice President of General Field Operations at Mitchell Drilling, "because of our well maintained fleet of rigs, experienced crews, and communications efficiencies, many operators are willing to wait for a drilling unit like Rig 6. However, we realize that time is money for our clients. That's why we continue to add rigs and to keep experienced crews to serve our operators as quickly and as safely as we can."
